Ultrasonic Spray Shaping Systems

Soft, low-speed sprays produced by ultrasonic spray molding systems typically require air shaping to meet demand, especially where high precision uniform deposition is required. Cheersonic has developed several air forming technologies that allow precise control of atomized spray using low pressure air.

Precision Ultrasonic Spray System
The unique precision ultrasonic atomizing nozzle combines with low pressure air/gas to create a soft, highly focused small spray droplet. The isolated hypotube delivers liquid to the atomizing surface of the nozzle, while the air/gas delivered through the nozzle orifice at a fixed low pressure forms the atomized droplet into a very precise target jet with a diameter of 0.5 mm.

Wide-format Ultrasonic Spray System
The ultrasonic atomizing nozzle is combined with a controlled air jet from a flat jet baffle. The atomized spray is immediately entrained in the gas stream on the atomizing surface of the nozzle to form a fan-shaped spray pattern. The velocity of the air stream is controllable, allowing for atomized spray or low or high impact spray on the product or substrate.

Focused Ultrasonic Spray System
Combining a unique ultrasonic atomizing nozzle with low pressure air/gas produces a soft, highly focused small spray droplet. Compressed air/gas, typically at 1 psi, is introduced into the diffusion chamber of the air hood surrounding the nozzle, creating a uniformly distributed air/gas flow around the nozzle rod. The ultrasonically generated spray at the tip of the rod is immediately entrained in the low pressure air/air stream. The spray casing is very narrow and hourglass shaped. The width of the shape is controlled by adjusting the nozzle distance from the substrate and varies between 1.78-25 mm.
